Being Bold

Today has been an inspirational day, after doing some messing around, I got down to the nitty-gritty of doing some learning and self inspiration. After getting myself motivated with my learning, I came away with three key elements: Constantly seek adventure and explore, Scare yourself and Act on what you learn. During a hit of inspiration, I googled ‘Wellington recording studios’ and found out there was one right around from my house! During a smoking break I decided to go for a wander and see if I could find it. Sure enough there it was, and just two buildings down was a great and inspirational quote:

If I was more forward, I would never look back

With that I threw all caution to the wind and got on their website as soon as I got back and sent them this message:

Hi There,

I’ve just discovered your business on Hopper street (around the corner from my house) and was wondering if you ever allow people to come join you and learn from the experience of working in a studio. I have been playing music for 13+ years and have dabbled in music recording at school. I have always had a passion for music and have thought in the past about working in recording studios. My music production skills are very low, my skills are more involved with my passion for writing, playing and listening to music.

I am not necessarily looking for an employment opportunity, just a chance to experience what you guys do and further my own education in my passion, a chance to come along and help out and be involved in the musical environment again (something I have missed out on for a few years now).

Thanks for taking the time to read this, my contact phone number is 02x-xxx-xxxx if you are interested, have questions or would like to meet.

Sadly the website decided to fail at this point and refused to send my message, so I found them on Facebook and sent it through there instead. I will update the blog with and progress on this.

Here’s to getting out of your comfort zone and trying new things!

Hey Sam. This is a wicked blog mate. I was expecting something purely on music but the personal, inspirational side of it has me hooked. As someone who believes in living intentionally, and embracing the successes and failures along the way, I can tell this will be great. Here’s to you living with intent and discovering some good tunes in the process. Mal
